My favorite part of Christmas when my kids were younger was preparing for Santa Claus. We baked cookies ( one year Pillsbury! ) and set them out on a plate with milk. Somehow the next morning the cookies were eaten - mostly - and the milk was half gone.
My favorite cookies were the sugar ones with frosting. I think they were Santa’s too.

I really should be blogging about my grandchild. And I am still working on my Flickr account that will include pics of him and everyone else too. Not there yet though… so I’ll post here when I get it together.
Instead I’m going to muse on the election a bit. Mostly from a personal point of view as this is a personal sort of election for me. I come from a generation that observed racial intolerance and to have an African-American running for the President of the United States and this close to winning is very exciting to me. I think folks today take it for granted that blacks and whites and Hispanics and Asians interact, intermingle and have access to all the same jobs and education. There is still some intolerance, but it’s better. So much better.
In all the crazy lipsticked pigs and lies and panic of this election cycle I think this significant milestone in our country’s history has gotten lost and I wanted to take a moment and savor this part of the victory and look forward to the big ole party when he wins!
I was alive for the moon landing, alive for 9-11 and now I am crossing my fingers that I’m alive for the election of the first black person to the highest office in the land. ( Now to start the great wait for the first woman President and the Mars landing. )

Interesting quote. The last couple of years I’ve felt as if I’ve been wasting time… yet not wasting time. I’ve been waiting… waiting to get well, waiting to feel not so old, waiting to see the path clearly.
Recently I decided to make my path thru, to lay stones upon it and set my feet to it.
My friend Jerome made me this lovely place. It’s a good place to begin.
Thank you Jerome and Sherome!
